It is unusual for May to see much in the way of rain in southern California. That is why it was so refreshing to have a couple days of soft, gentle rains. It went from heat-stroke, to winter chill in a matter of hours. The skies were overcast and intermittent showers trailed through the area. It has been delightful.
So I went out with Miguelito this morning a walked in the rain. Miguelito, my little chihuahua yorkie mix was home alone with me today as his companions were at the groomer having a spa day. I am sure he was worried, wondering why I took them away and didn't come home with them, but he must have thought is was even more peculiar to have me put on his harness and take him out in the rain. He cringed and wriggled, but finally realized we were really going and finally seemed t enjoy the adventure.
And it took his mind off missing his friends. (He is not ready to go to the groomers. Plus he is so tiny, I can dip him and be done in a few minutes!).
I think if you dress appropriatley, walking in a gentle spring rain can be one of the most soul nourishing things you can do.
April showers are supposed to bring May flowers. In southern California, they seem to come, even with little or no rain. But if that is so, what do you suppose May showers are supposed to bring? While you think about that, may you take a walk in the spring rain and not hurry through it. You won't melt as my grandmother used to say. She was right. In fact, I
