![]() In case you haven’t noticed, Qwerki Thoughts and Musings has been on hiatus for a while. Since April 17 to be exact. Almost seven weeks for those who track such things. Yes, it surprised me, too. I have to say I was surprised to find it had been that long! But I believe could be considered a hiatus, albeit an unplanned one. Hey, isn’t life really just one long series of unplanned events? Even those we planned for often come ladened with unplanned events. But we muddle through somehow. And sometimes, a hiatus is good for us. Yes, good for us. Sitting down at long last to the laptop, I went back to my two last blogs written March 25 and April 19. Both were about struggling with writer’s block. How apropos! I was further surprised to find that I had only blogged ONCE in April! What the heck? Hiatus? Writer’s block? Or procrastination run rampant, out of control and keeping me from doing one of the things I (say I) like best: writing! Well obviously this won’t do and cannot continue. And here is it June 1. June, as they say, is busting out all over, but is the corn as high as an elephant’s eye? Seems early to me...but I digress. I often digress, wander off into fields afar, long away from where I thought I thought I wanted to be. But like a horse who heads back to the barn at the end of the day, I know where shelter is. I know where I am fed. I know when its time to get back to what I want to be doing. So here goes. So many things have happened in the seven weeks I’ve been “off track”. The biggest of course was my trip to Italy. And really, who would be blogging on their first trip to Italia? Not this boy. But there are tales to be told, so I will spend some blogging time doing that. Also, when one takes some time off, one has some time to reflect and re-evaluate; to ponder and wonder and take stock. Even if one is not conscious of this while doing it, one comes to realize that one has done it when one sets out to maintain the new or restored way of seeing things. As they are. Really. And making choices. Now there is some blog material. One must really stay tuned. (I am the “one” in all this. Always have been, always will be). So welcome to June. The first of any month is always a good time to make a fresh start. And when its a month like June, traditionally filled with life events like graduations, weddings, tomatoes and strawberries, and the promise of summer, it just can’t help but be inspirational. Wishing you a very happy, healthy and harmonious month of June.

June IS busting out all over. I've missed your thoughts and musings. Along with the Morning Glories blooming all over my backyard fence, summer seems to bring many thoughts of all summers past. I kind of miss the days when I climbed the backyard fence and ran through the field. But now I agree, there is something about this time each year that is inspirational. It's good to slow down and explore new places and new ideas. It is inspirational.
