There was music everywhere in Florence when I visited in 2017. This accordionist captured the feel my naive American ear imagined.

This Buddha sits in a raised planter in my driveway. A strawberry grew next to him. I ate the strawberry. The Buddha continues undisturbed.
6/28/2020 1 Comment Feeling GnarlySometimes I just feel gnarly, like this old tree on the Santa Rosa Plateau a while back. But Merriam-Webster also defines gnarly as "having a pleasingly or impressively rugged or rough quality", which Sounds okay to me.
6/27/2020 0 Comments Mount Rubidoux PanoramaFrom Mount Rubidoux, a photo taken with the panorama app on my Galaxy Note 9. Taken in 2016.
COVID safety keeps me from venturing up the mountain these days. 5/31/2020 0 Comments Angel by the Angel's TrumpetsI captured this image of the stone angel that sits on an arbor in my backyard by the brugmansia tree (angel's trumpet) in full bloom. It made me feel somewhat peaceful in these very troubled times.
5/12/2020 0 Comments Surprise BloomI have several epiphyllums in my side yard. They always love to surprise me with the most gorgeous blooms. I sometimes see the buds, but usually they bloom as if by magic over night. I particularly like this one.
5/4/2020 0 Comments Rubidoux Path UpI wish I could say I painted this, but alas, I used an app called Prisma to created this from a photograph I made sometime ago. Still like it, though.
5/2/2020 2 Comments Look Look!Even when you are not looking, the bluebird of happiness can find you. This little guy was in the trees above the arroyo at my friends house here in Riverside. Amazed I caught this pic at all!
4/30/2020 1 Comment Seeing What We Want to SeeI was walking Mig the other morning through the Plaza when we saw this on the sidewalk. It was of course the dried up slushy someone had dropped and left. I was captivated by it, so a snapped a pix and walked on. Later, I opened it on my computer and played with it in a photo editor. I can see many things in this image besides a messy stain. What do you see? Perhaps it is a sort of haphazard Rorsharch test! Bull, I say.
4/26/2020 0 Comments A Sunset RememberedThis is at one of my favorite beaches in northern Santa Barbara. Sunsets like this are amazing. These days, they are memories as we hunker in place. And yes, I imagine we will once again be able to experience them again. Sunsets are one of life's pleasures. And I just know after the time of Covid 19, we will be free to enjoy them once again.
